  • 0–5 years (for B.Tech/M.Tech graduates)

💼 Role Summary / Purpose

As a Parts Engineer at GE Power Conversion (Chennai), you’ll act as a technical liaison for Power Conversion equipment. You will support quote generation, sales conversion, and customer fulfillment by identifying spare parts, managing the parts lifecycle, and collaborating globally with internal teams.

🛠️ Essential Responsibilities

• Identify project spare parts, life-cycle status, and replacement strategy.
• Research drawings, parts books, and databases to fulfill customer orders.
• Perform obsolescence studies and part applicability verification.
• Coordinate with engineering to improve internal part records.
• Support internal/external customer sales efforts.
• Contact vendors for part validation and pricing (especially for obsolete items).
• Collaborate across teams: Engineering, Spares, Order Management, Global Sales, etc.
• Maintain engineering definitions for all newly created parts.
• Provide technical input on part substitution and interchangeability.

📋 Desired Skills & Characteristics

• Working knowledge of SAP, PLM (e.g., Teamcenter), and ERP systems.
• Ability to read drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
• Experience with LV/MV drives, PLC systems, and spares handling.
• Customer-focused, detail-oriented, and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Analytical skills using Excel, Access, PowerPoint (pivot tables, data mining).
• Strong verbal and written English communication.
• Commercial awareness with willingness to travel.
