Job Description
As a Data Scientist – I at Swiggy, you will engage in tackling impactful challenges related to Fraud Detection, Location Intelligence, and Catalog Enrichments. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or professionals with less than a year of experience who are eager to embark on a career in data science. You will be instrumental in applying advanced mathematics, machine learning, statistics, and operations research techniques to refine and enhance our systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Problem Solving: Address complex, high-impact issues affecting consumer experience using machine/deep learning, data mining, statistical analysis, and related methods.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capability to deconstruct and devise solutions from first principles.
- Data Handling: Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of data, and perform exploratory data analysis to identify insights and trends.
- Model Development: Develop and deploy machine learning models on large-scale datasets.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable data science solutions.
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in data science and machine learning.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or in Mechanical, CSE, EEE.
- Experience: 0-1 years of hands-on experience in industry or research lab settings.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods.
- Programming: Proficiency in Python.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Preferred: Experience in deep learning and internships at startups or product-based consumer/internet companies is a plus.
